Kabardino Balkarian State Medical University is one of the top medical universities in Russia. It's one of the oldest and leading medical institutions in Russia. For more than 85+ years the Kabardino Medical State University is playing a major role in the development of medical science and training of medical practitioners and scientists. Today, it is known as the best medical scientific, educational, informational, social and cultural university worldwide because of its extensive clinical research, laboratory base and experienced teaching staff.
The College of Medicine has its history since 1925 , from the moment the paramedic-obstetric courses were opened at the Lenin training camp. In the late twenties, when the young republic was in dire need of medical personnel, a decision was made to organize a medical college, and in 1932 an independent medical college appeared in Nalchik. The head of the surgical department of the Nalchik City Hospital Bogolepov (name and patronymic were not preserved) and the surgeon of the same hospital M.D. In 1933, the medical college was headed by A. Mirzoev. Since 1937, the medical college began to be called the Feldsher-Obstetric Dental School. Kalyuzhny G.K. With the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, the work of the school was rebuilt. In August 1942, when the mass evacuation from Nalchik began, the school stopped its work, but already in 1944 the work resumed ... Many graduates of the medical school gave their lives for the liberation of the country from fascism. From September 1944 to January 1951, the directors of the FAZS were Nalchikov H.S., Guseinov G.T., Solomina E.Ya., Serdyuk A.A. In 1951, FAZSH was headed by Yu.M. Dukelsky, and with him the school became the Nalchik Medical School. In 1976, AB Medvedev became the director of the school, who actively continued the traditions of the school and accumulated educational, methodological and material resources. After the transfer of Anatoly Borisovich to another job, N.K.Depueva, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation and the CBD, was appointed director. Through the efforts of N.Kh. Depuyeva in 1995, the school becomes the Nalchik Medical College and begins to implement advanced programs. One of the first in Russia, the college team mastered the lecture and seminar method of teaching. In 1997, the college became a structural unit of the university and continues to work effectively in the system of continuing professional education. Since 2004, the college is headed by S.V. Pshibieva, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Honored Worker of Education of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. In 2007, KBSU Medical College became a laureate of the “European Medal of Gold Quality” competition in the nomination “One Hundred Best Specialized Universities of Russia”. In 2017, the College of Medicine repeated its success, becoming the laureate of the competition "100 best organizations of secondary vocational education in Russia", as well as the laureate of the All-Russian competition "Educational organization of the XXI century. League of Leaders - 2017 ”in the nomination“ The best organization of secondary vocational education ”. In May 2016, the Regional Branch of the All-Russian Public Movement "Volunteers - Medics" was created on the basis of the KBSU Medical College. The rich experience in training paramedical workers not only paid off, but also allowed us to achieve significant improvement. The scientific and pedagogical potential of the college continues to grow and improve successfully.
The college has a modern educational and material base in three educational buildings. Classes are held in 76 equipped classrooms and classrooms and laboratories, 5 computer classes. There are 2 gymnasiums in the educational buildings, a reading room for 45 seats, 2 assembly halls for 200 and 250 seats, a language laboratory, a modern equipped student’s canteen, a buffet, teaching rooms, psychologist’s rooms, administrative and administrative rooms and support staff. Students live in 2 comfortable dormitories.
The educational process employs about 200 teachers, including more than 35 candidates of medical sciences, 3 doctors of sciences. Among the teachers of the college there are honored doctors and teachers, medical students, honored education workers. College teachers communicate with leading specialists of the Ministry of Health of the CBD, participate in regional scientific conferences and seminars on topical health problems. Employees of the medical, biological, chemical and pedagogical faculties of the university, as well as medical practitioners with high qualification categories and rich practical experience are invited to conduct classes and give lectures. Classes are conducted by a cyclic method, which allows students to observe the dynamics of the course of diseases, perform a set of medical procedures, provide patient care, and independently perform manipulations. Working contact with medical staff becomes close, and what is important, students have the opportunity to study at the patient's bedside. The teaching staff of the college seeks to educate not only well-informed, highly qualified specialists, but also moral responsible and respectable citizens. The teachers of the college have the following tasks: arouse interest in the chosen profession and prepare students for conscious labor and socially useful activities; foster a sense of moral responsibility for the results of future professional activity; to consolidate the skills of independence in work. Each year, students demonstrate their knowledge and skills in the professional competition.
University has a perfect environment for study as well as leisure. Students feel like home in this university because of the students associations for different countries so they can celebrate their festivals and feel like their own country. Also, there is separate community for each country which takes part in cultural festival organizes by University. University also organize tournaments for students which helps build the holistic personality development in students. University also have prayer rooms for each religion at the university campus.
